The Village of Bedford Park Public Works Department maintains the village facilities and grounds, streets, sewers, residential garbage removal and the business district. The department also oversees special projects and events as needed. The department was involved in the planning of the Veterans and Service Memorial at Archer & Roberts Road, along with the Park District.
Street Clean-up: Street sweeping is a daily operation during the summer months and is done on Thursdays (north side) and Fridays (south side) in the residential area. All residents are kindly asked to remove their vehicles from streets according to sign postings between the hours of 8:30 am-1:00 pm for efficient cleaning or they will be ticketed.
Snow removal is also a duty of the Public Works Department. Vehicles must be removed from streets when snowfall reaches 2 inches or more between the hours of 9:00 am-12:00 pm or they will be ticketed.
Be advised according to Village Code Title 3, Chapter 5, Section 8(b): Every owner, lessee, tenant occupant or other person having charge of any building or plot of ground in the village abutting upon any sidewalk shall keep such sidewalk in front of such building or lot of ground free from snow, ice and any and all obstacles.
Residential Bulk Pick-Up: Bulk garbage removal is done the last Friday of every month. Please contact us or the Village Hall to sign up.
